Counseling Awareness
April is the season of springtime and growth! This is an excellent time of the year to facilitate the growth of your mental health and development. Mental health is a critical topic to talk about. By being transparent about it we will be more willing to seek help, raise awareness and break the stigma surrounding mental health. Counseling is the number one treatment to help cope with different mental illnesses.
Benefits of Counseling:
- Counseling provides the ability to possess improved communication and interpersonal skills.
- Greater confidence, self-acceptance, and self-esteem.
- Increased management of emotions, stress, and distorted thinking
- Ability to break bad habits and behaviors.
- Increased relief of anxiety, depression, or a mental health condition.
Statistics:
- 75% of clients who enter counseling have shown positive emotional and behavioral changes.
- 75% of clients have success after as little as 14 therapy sessions
- Over 40 million adults have received mental health counseling within the last year. These numbers have only been rising since the pandemic in 2020.
There is no harm in trying counseling, as it will benefit you to learn lifelong coping skills. This not only benefits you but those closest to you and possible future relationships. Many people report feeling happier from therapy and more productive.
